This is a National initiative from SAMHSA. The intent of this National Campaign is to educate and bring public awareness to the status of Children and Adolescent Mental Health needs.

The Jefferson County campaign began as an initiative of the Jefferson County Mental Health group, a Health Action Partnership membership. These Community Advocates came from all different areas of Child and Adolescent services.

Translational Bioinformatics Mini-Symposium Spotlights Collaborative Opportunities

More than 100 people attended this inaugural event, which showcased informatics projects in immunology, omics, and complex diseases like cancer. The theme, “Forging New Bioinformatics Collaborations,” helped start a dialogue between bioinformatics and several other affiliated disciplines (biostatistics, structural analytics, network medicine).

Homelessness in Birmingham: An Update from The Edge of Chaos

This Wicked Problem case on homelessness in Birmingham was researched and written by Sean Bowman.  Sean earned his Master’s in Public Health at UAB after attaining his undergraduate degree from Auburn.  He currently is employed by a successful start-up company that emerged out of UAB.
